About Me
Hi, I'm Eric Wilbanks
I’m a “seasoned” professional with more than 30 years of experience in applying the principals of education and psychology in both for- and non-profit contexts.
Back in the day, I attended Lee University where I double-majored in Christian Education and Psychology. Since that time, I’ve worked in radio as a DJ, in pastoral ministry (mostly youth ministry), in the publishing industry as a writer, editor, and product developer, in training & development as an eLearning architect, and in brand development and marketing, advising and assisting local, national, and global brands. Today, I am the Director of Brand Development, Marketing, and Communications for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Ocoee Region, an organization with 17 Clubs spread across six counties in southeast Tennessee.
After a pretty rough start in life—nearly dying four different times in 14 years—I was radically saved in the summer of 1984. Since then, I’ve done my best to live my life by what I believe are the fundamental aspects of what it means to be a disciple of Christ: Know God (John 10:14), Live for God (John 8:31; 14:15), Love others (John 13:34-35), and Bear Fruit for the Kingdom of God (John 15:8). I haven’t arrived yet. I’m still a daily work in progress.
I have a lot of interests in things that don’t normally go together (and am genuinely disinterested in things that typically do go together!). I love Christian praise & worship music, but I also love 80s rock and metal, 80s funk, and 70s disco! I grew up in the DEEP south but I hate country music. I’m fascinated by nature, especially birds, but I don’t care at all about outdoors activities like camping, hunting, fishing, etc. I played multiple sports as a kid, trained in martial arts as a young adult, and exercise regularly as a 50-something … but I rarely ever watch any sports or attend sporting events (exception: I LOVE baseball). I have a “unique” fashion sense that is part Duckie Dale (Pretty in Pink), part Caddyshack preppy, and part steampunk wizard. I don’t drink, cuss, or smoke. I’m a true “tea-totaller,” meaning I only drink water and hot tea. I love psychology, education, and marketing, but my biblical worldview often puts me at odds with many of the things that are taught in those disciplines.
All that to say: I’m a bit odd. I’ve even been called a ‘Wizard of Odd’ … a moniker I actually appreciate! So, if you’ve read this far and aren’t scared off, let’s connect! Take a look around this site to get a feel for the types of things I do and the skills I have to offer. Then, just shoot me a message and let me know what you are interested in.
You can also check out my podcast, “Better Mind, Better Life,” (available on this site—just click the "Podcast" link at the top of this page—and in your favorite podcast app) which explores the fascinating insights of psychology viewed through the lens of Scripture!
Eric Wilbanks
Eric possesses a keen intellect and a creative method of viewing the World around him. What makes him unique among others in his field of expertise isn't simply his knowledge, but his ability to foster important dialogue that in turn yields well thought out results.
Eric is a master of his craft. I find him to be studied and well versed in his field. Such dedication shines through his work which stands above others I have worked with in the past. He is my go-to resource for issues of branding, program and graphic design.
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Triple Strength Branding™
Branding is the creation of a "mental tattoo" … a stable, consistent image that comes to mind any time someone interacts with your brand. Triple Strength Branding™ focuses on the integration of your entire brand in three key areas of focus: Alignment, Assignment, and Articulation.
DISCernible™ You!
Because we are creatures of habit, DISC analyzes both current and past behaviors, and then uses the data to identify your distinct behavioral patterns and forecast future behaviors … like a predictive analytics model for your personality! DISC specifically analyzes how we feel about our context and how we feel about ourselves in context.
The Learning CURVE™
The Learning CURVE™ is a a well-researched, proprietary learning model which combines principles from theories such as the Adult Learning Cycle, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and much more to explain a learner's spiral journey from simply amassing knowledge to true knowledge mastery.
Your Marketing PLAN™
Your Marketing PLAN™ has four distinct phases. Each phase contains a fast lane and a slow lane for clients, and each phase is marked by a psychological needs barrier and a single goal to give you clear, research-backed guidance for all your marketing strategies.
Changing Course™ Bible Studies
These 4–13 week courses can be taking individually or used as Bible study curriculum for groups of all sizes and ages, from children to adults. Specifically designed to help believers "change course" and learn to take up their cross and follow Christ.
Tea•ology Prof
To be clear, I’m no guru; I just love tea and I love to learn. Maybe more than anything, I love sharing what I learn, because that means—in some small way—I’m helping make your life a little better, and that makes me super happy.
Tea is always best when shared with a friend … and, hopefully, Tea•ology can be part of that experience from this point forward. Here’s to sharing!
